Summer is a special time to be a kid! No school, more independence and the adventure and beauty of the outdoors. Rhodes Grove is a great place that provides this unique experience and much, much more. And we add a very important dynamic: a Godly, trained counselor to be a guide. We strive to provide an environment where each young person can ask questions, seek answers and discover that God is real and wants to have a purposeful relationship with them.
Each summer, Rhodes Grove offers various weeks of exciting youth camping opportunities for campers ranging from 2nd grade through high school. Each week includes 'Facing North' chapel and devotional times designed to help campers get to know God better. When you send your child to Rhodes Grove, you will be allowing them to eat, sleep, worship, play and create memories in a community that is designed to assist in their spiritual development.

Summer Camp 2010
Theme: The Pursuit
Verse: 2 Timothy 2:22 - Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart.
This summer will focus on turning away from temptation and worldly desires and chase after righteousness, faith, love and peace with direction and purpose...and to do this with other believers! Our counselors and staff are carefully selected and trained for this very purpose. We want to help your child build a relationship with Jesus Christ by providing personal attention and supervision as well as building lasting relationships with campers and staff. Join us this summer as we go on THE PURSUIT!

Equestrian Experience camp is a program designed to create a heightened horsemanship experience for the seasoned rider. Campers will participate in the traditional schedule for our Quest Camp but will also have the added benefit of specially crafted horse activities. Equestrian Experience includes drill team activities, individual skill activities rodeo games and more. There will also be a 3 hour trail ride in the Michaux State Forest for a special day-away. Open for guy & gal campers, each rider should have at least 25 hours of experience, a high level of confidence and control and plan to spend approximately 4 hours a day in the barn and corral.
Mustangs & Mavericks camps are designed for the intermediate rider looking to add more skill to their abilities. Open for guy and gal campers there are two weeks to choose from. Campers will enjoy all the activities of traditional camp while also experiencing the added benefit of caring for and riding an exclusive horse all week. Horses and tack are provided by the camp. A special highlight is the overnight, rustic, trail adventure in the Michaux State Forest. Campers will sleep under the stars, while enjoying fellowship with others in God's beautiful creation. This is an awesome overnight adventure! (We recommend 10-15 hours of previous horse experience for these camps).
Wild Wind camp is designed for advanced riders looking for the ultimate wilderness horsemanship experience. To attend this camp riders must be female, have had previous Rhodes Grove Horse Camp (or equivalent overnight trip) experience and 25 hours of horse experience (participants will be asked to validate riding experience). Only certified equipment is used, trained staff leads the sessions, and campers are harnessed in case of a fall. Is it fun? Of course! Over 30 different climbing route variations are possible.
